Flygsfors "Coquille" - Mid Century Vase - Paul Kedelv

Coquille glass object designed by Paul Kedelv and manufactured by Flygsfors Glasbruk in Sweden in the late 1950's. After 70 years is this outstanding design still contemporary. 

In 1949 Paul Kedelv joined Flygsfors and during his time there he created the most popular and recognizable range of glass art ever produced. In 1952 he designed the Coquille range of art glass. This range or art glass was distinguished by its organic shapes with lined layers of transparent and opaque colored glass and was inspired by seashells. The Coquille series became Flygsfors' most popular and world-famous glass series and was produced from the 1950's into the early 1960's.
