Johansson designed this spectacular display object or functional bowl for Orrefors. It's hard to describe how the light reflects off and through this piece making it appear to be green when it is actually nearly clear. A typical Nordic Design of simplicity yet astounishing light effects, due to its coloured base. 

Jan Johansson was a Swedish glass designer who studied at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Johansson came to Orrefors in 1969, where he designed bowls, vases, candlesticks and sculptures. His work is associated with clean shapes and cut crystal that combines contemporary style with a sense of tradition.

His work is also represented at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Oslo, the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY, and the Museum för Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg.
